Prof. Dr. Johan O. A. Robertsson, Managing Director
Prof. Robertsson is a graduate of Uppsala University, Sweden (M.Sc.) and Rice University, Houston (Ph.D.). After graduating he spent two years as a postdoc at ETH-Zürich. In 1996 he joined oilfield service company Schlumberger where he spent 15 years in various R&D and management positions. In 2012 he was appointed Professor of Applied Geophysics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH-Zürich, and in 2016 he launched Seismic Apparition GmbH offering game-changing seismic data acquisition, processing and imaging solutions. Prof. Robertsson is the 2015 co-recipient of the prestigious Eni “new frontiers in hydrocarbons award”.
Dr. Dirk-Jan van Manen, Chief Geophysicist
Dr. Dirk-Jan van Manen holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Geophysics from the University of Utrecht and the University of Edinburgh, respectively. After completing his Ph.D. in 2006, Dr. van Manen joined Schlumberger where he held various R&D positions, including R&D manager for isometric data processing algorithms. In 2014, Dr. van Manen took on a position at the ETH as senior scientist where he has been leading the construction of two novel laboratories for immersive wave propagation experimentation. In 2016, Dr. van Manen joined newly formed Seismic Apparition. His research interests include, source isolation, multi component data, seismic interferometry, and immersive boundary conditions. Dr. van Manen is an author of over 18 peer-reviewed articles an inventor on 30 patent applications. He is also a recipient of the SEG’s J. Clarence Karcher Award and the EAGE’s Arie van Weelden Award, and a co-recipient of the ENI New Frontiers of Hydrocarbons (Upstream) Award.
Mr. Kurt Eggenberger, Chief Operating Officer
Kurt Eggenberger received an M.Sc. in applied geophysics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich and an MBA from Henley Business School in London. Before joining Seismic Apparition GmbH in January 2016, he has held various technical, functional and operational positions within Schlumberger across the globe, furthering new technologies.
Prof. Dr. Fredrik Andersson, Chief Technology Officer
Fredrik Andersson received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Lund University in 2000 and 2005, respectively. He is currently working as an associate Professor of mathematics at Lund University. His research interests include inverse problems, fast algorithms and harmonic analysis.
Mr. Robin Walker, Commercial Director
Robin Walker joined Seismic Apparition as Commercial Director after 35 years in the energy industry, much of it in seismic. Robin held a series of commercial roles in WesternGeco and forerunners including Vice President of Sales and Marketing 2008-2013 and Q Product Manager previously. Mr. Walker was a Global Account Director at Schlumberger until 2015, when he established No2ndPrize Ltd, which he continues to run. He was tempted to join SA by the raft of unique productivity and quality enhancing tools it is developing.
